ONE BAG FOR COMMUTE, TRAVEL, AND ADVENTURE!Store everything you need for commute, travel, and adventure with 25L (1500+ cubic inches) of interior space. Plus with 20″ x 13″ x 7″ exterior dimensions, this bag fits underneath the seats as a personal item on most airlines. And for bulky items – like a jacket or that sweaty pair of gym shoes – you can quickly cinch them down with the front buckle strap.
Open WaterGet out there on the water! Splashes, puddles, and even submersion – no matter what, your stuff stays dry. The back and shoulder straps use fast-drying, non-abrasive padding for use during water activities like kayaking, paddleboarding, boating, and at the beach. And if it ends up overboard – or if you end up overboard – it floats!
Wet Weather – So What!Because this backpack is made using welded seams, airtight zippers, and our fully waterproof Hydrowall material, it can withstand rain for any amount of time – so you can stay outside longer and without worry. Hydrowall is made using a double-sided TPU coating for incredible toughness and longevity. It won’t rip or tear, and doesn’t become brittle or break down.
TOP & BOTTOM GRAB HANDLES WITH CARABINER LOOPS
- Easily grab the pack from storage areas, back seats, or from the floor of your kayak/boat.
- Carabiner attachment points on the sides of each handle for clipping extra gear.

Waterproof Smartphone PocketThe side smartphone pocket utilizes extra thick, clear, puncture-proof TPU. This is the same rubbery material used for waterproof phone cases. Since this pocket is only accessible from the inside, it’s secure and also completely waterproof. Your phone is protected from splashes, rain, mud, dirt, and sand. And to top it off, the touchscreen works from the outside, so you can control your phone without taking it out of your bag – a customer-favorite feature.
Hydrowall MaterialOur Hydrowall material has an advanced dual-sided permanently waterproof TPU layer that’s tough-as-nails and offers the same amazing performance in any climate. Along with the airtight zippers and high-frequency welded seams, this pack is a true safe-haven for your gear.
After putting some hours on the pack, it’s obvious to me that this is an extremely well-thought-out piece of gear for fishing and much, much more!Demystifly.com Review
The Versatility to Handle AnythingWhat makes the Explorer Backpack special is that it’s rugged enough for adventure yet versatile enough for day-to-day life. It’s equipped to handle any activity or weather. With plenty of room, plus dedicated pockets to store your electronics, you’re covered whether out on the water, backpacking to bucket-list locales, or just heading in to work.
It Started on KickstarterAfter a successful launch on Kickstarter, we delivered this backpack to customers around the globe. Our two biggest reasons for creating this pack:
- WATERPROOF PROTECTION WITH ZIPPERS: There’s plenty of roll-top waterproof packs out there, but those can be cumbersome and difficult to organize your stuff inside. So we set out to make a versatile, zippered waterproof backpack.
- VALUE: Similar backpacks using 600D+ TPU and airtight zippers go for twice as much, and they don’t have a waterproof front pocket. Having more functionality than other products on the market, yet still being more affordable equals added value. Also – these zippers are drysuit-grade and do not require “zipper grease”.

Hello readers of the Breakwater Supply company reviews for the Explorer 25L waterproof backpack. I purchase my first Breakwater Supply bag in August of 2022. When it arrived in the mail it was on time with quick delivery. Showing excitement and ready to try out this new bag. Switching from a worn out a waterproof Patagonia 30L , after close to two-years of daily use. Which can be seen here on this YouTube:
The switch from the Patagonia to Breakwater Supply was helpful in keeping items separated and organized. It also stored all the personal property allowing everything to stay dry. Lowering any stress one might have when getting caught in the rain or on the boat with water splashing on deck. This is an awesome backpack for organized onshore fisherman who carry all there tackle and want to keep it dry. The primary Breakwater Supply backpack I use goes through ups and downs daily, with an average weight of ten pounds in the bag. Holding everything one might need and use for a business administrative lifestyle. Which in this case is education while in college over the next few years. Here comes the good news, this manufacture stands by there product with professional customer service and has provided a brand new Backpack after mine became damaged. If your looking to try a waterproof bag this company is offering a water tight sealed bag.

This bag will serve a dual purpose 1) travel either airlines or my car 2) to be placed in my basket on my E bike to go to the Lighthouse in the winter. It gets cold and windy at the top of the lighthouse. I dress down for my ride there but, need extra things at the top.
So just to see how much I could take if needed I stuffed the bag. The following all fit in.; extra pants, long johns, rain jacket (Columbia fairly heavy), super thick sweatshirt, an additional pull over sweatshirt, knit hat, ear muffs , scarf, wool socks, thin socks, waterproof shoes or rubber covers (try rubber covers, galoshes for older people). Also small bicycle pump and repair tire kit.
All in a waterproof bag. That keeps it shape and is very well made. Another plus it fit in my over size Electric Bike Company model R bike basket. Yet it also felt very good with great weight distribution, when I placed it on my back. Perfect as a carry on bag.
By having all these options it was easier justifying the price. The old saying is “ you get what you payed for” in this case I got more in quantity, storage and waterproof. I received before the arrival date in excellent condition.’
Tried to find fault with the bag. I could not. The bag has some reflective material that works well at night. If needed you can easily add a light to the bottom handle or a reflective belt around the bag.
The challenge of anyone setting off on a waterborne endeavor is how to both keep things dry and accessible. I purchased this backpack in an attempt to solve that problem for myself and I am glad that I did. The backpack is watertight while maintaining a level of accessibility that is needed when on the water and in confined spaces. Putting this backpack in front of me in my pack raft was the perfect solution for needing to keep my camera and lunch dry, but still needing to be able to get them. Other bags require the old fashioned roll down sleeve and buckle or the US Army wet weather bag’s double cinch approach. This waterproof zipper design is far better than either of those. Additionally, to economize space in the boat (very limited on a packraft) the compression strap helps keep the bag from taking up much-needed room.
The phone pouch is, by far, the best feature of the backpack. I cannot tell you how many times I have been on the water and wanted the use of my phone for maps, texts, or other things while being terrified to take it out in fear of dropping it. Waterproof or floating cases help, but it also decreases the usability of the phone. This backpack keeps the phone safe while allowing you to use it. It is even better if you have a pair of Bluetooth earphones that will allow you to make phone calls while the phone is safe in the backpack. If nothing else, this feature alone is worth the purchase of the backpack in my opinion.
