Description
Keep your airtight zippers flexible and protected from dirt and debris, while ensuring they glide smoothly along contact points.
How and When to Apply
Apply Breakwater Supply Zipper Glide seasonally and before your waterproof backpack is being stored for extended time. With the zipper fully open, apply a thin coating of Zipper Glide along the zipper teeth and away from both ends of the zipper track (avoiding the ends will prevent the glide from gunking up at those points). After applying, slide the zipper head back and forth several times to spread the coating along the zipper track.
What’s in the lubricant?
Zipper Glide is made from a formula that’s also used as kid’s lip balm (meaning it’s 100% safe), but is slightly harder, incorporating a combination of petroleum, moisturizers (emollients), and soft waxes.
Is this only for airtight zippers?
Zipper Glide can be used as a protective lubricant for all zippers – airtight or not.
What environments is it for?
Breakwater Supply Zipper Glide is an all-purpose lubricant, and useful for indoor as well as harsh outdoor environments. It will protect and lubricate zipper teeth in frozen cold temperatures, dry conditions, or in ocean and salt spray. Because it’s technically a dry lube, it is non-greasy and will not evaporate or drip off. It is marine grade and designed for our fully submersible backpacks – making it ideal for extreme wet conditions.
