Can this backpack be fully submerged underwater?
Yes, the Fogland Backpack has been tested to the IP68 standard. Once the zippers are sealed shut, the Fogland Backpack can be submerged underwater for extended time (30+ minutes) while keeping all contents in the front pocket and large main compartment completely dry.
Will it float?
Yes! In fact, the Fogland 25L will float with over 40 lbs (18kg) of weight inside. Note: as a disclaimer, we recommend maxxing out your backpack at 10% of your bodyweight to prevent injury.
What’s the difference between the CORDURA and non-CORDURA versions?
The Fogland CORDURA line is roughly 10% lighter in weight and retains its fabric look and feel on the exterior, while the non-CORDURA versions have a rubberized feel. Fogland CORDURA backpacks are made from genuine CORDURA 500D Ripstop Nylon that has been coated on both sides with a TPU layer. Just like the non-CORDURA versions, they are IP68 waterproof and fully submersible.
How do I keep it clean?

Do I have to worry about rust?
No. We intentionally use 100% non-corrosive materials and components – from UTX Duraflex buckles to polymer and stainless zippers and pullers.
How big is the laptop sleeve?
The Fogland Lite 15L and Fogland 20L have a 10″ W x 13″ H (25cm X 33cm) laptop sleeve that will hold a standard-sized 14″ laptop. The Fogland 25L’s laptop sleeve measures 10.75″ W x 14.5″ H (27cm x 37cm) and will hold larger laptops measuring 16″ or greater. Both laptop sleeves have a “false bottom” to protect your device from impact with the ground. This false bottom is .8″ (2cm) from bottom for the 15L/20L and 2″ (5cm) from bottom for the Fogland 25L.
Where can I use it?
The Fogland Backpack excels as an all-weather companion for rugged adventure (traveling, hiking, fishing, hunting, boating, paddling, watersports, snow sports) as well as everyday life (gym, work, commuting, biking/cycling). It can also be used as an emergency backpack in areas that are vulnerable to storms, flooding, and intense weather events.

    We took the 20L Fogland Cordura Waterproof backpack with us for a week in Disneyworld. It is roomy and lightweight. It was in the 80’s and my husband was completely comfortable with wearing it. The way the back is made prevented it from clinging to him. We were able to carry two stainless steel water bottles, neck fans, cooling towels, rain ponchos and snacks and our outer layers without having to stuff anything in there.
    We were even complimented on how nice it was after a security guard, who was forced to search it at the gate, questioned us as to whether or not it was waterproof.
    “Nice! You’re going to need it!”
    This is a great alternative to a soggy backpack! Worth every penny.
