We’ve got you covered – don’t worry. Breakwater Supply products, excluding apparel, are backed by our Gear Up Warranty from their date of purchase, provided they’ve been bought from our website or from an authorized retailer (including our Amazon and Walmart.com storefronts). The warranty coverage period for Breakwater Supply Waterproof Backpacks and Waterproof Bags is 2 years, while Waterproof Footwear has a coverage period of 6 months.
Our Gear Up Warranty program covers your product should it fail due to a defect in its construction. You should be confident your Breakwater Supply product will hold up to outdoor use in all-weather conditions — that’s what it’s built for. The gear you purchase from us is an investment, and our Gear Up Warranty is part of that investment. Reviews about our customer service reflect our commitment to prioritizing our customers, especially when resolving warranty issues. This is not something we take lightly. Returns: Website Orders & Non-Amazon Orders
If you’ve purchased an item from us on our website or a non-Amazon platform such as Walmart.com, we back our products with a 30 day returns policy, excluding apparel (more on that below). Simply contact us to provide information about your return and we’ll make it right. Our return guidelines are as follows:
- Returns or exchanges can only be processed on items that are brand new and unused. They must be in the original packaging and with all tags still attached. Any accessories that were originally included (such as Zipper Glide) must also be included and be brand new and unused. We will not process returns on used items under any circumstances.
- Customers have 30 days from the delivery date to initiate a return or exchange (referred to as the Return Window)
- Exchanges for different size/color are acceptable and limited to one exchange per order.
- There are two options for exchanges:
1. Quickest: To receive a new item as quickly as possible, place an order for your new item so it ships immediately. You can then ship your original item back to us at any time. The refund will be processed on your original order when it’s received.
2. Slower: Send your original item back, and wait for us to receive it. We’ll send out your choice of exchange after we receive your return. - The refunded amount will be minus processing, packing, shipping, and restocking costs, which are 30% of the order price. This restocking fee covers the costs for shipping and packaging, transaction and credit card processing fees (which are not refunded to us), and time spent processing the outgoing order and subsequent return.
Each of our product pages list accurate size and specifications, and it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the product is correct for their specific use during purchase. It is the responsibility of the customer to purchase shipping and send the item back to us.
We reserve the right to reject returns. If you’ve taken it out of the packaging and decided it wasn’t for you, that’s completely fine, and we will process your return. However, if you’ve removed it from the packaging and tried it out in the field, or used any accessories such as applying Zipper Glide to the zippers, it’s been put to use and we will not accept the item as a return.
Apparel is excluded from returns as it is created per piece, on demand, which reduces waste. Check sizing tables before ordering to ensure proper fit.
Returns: Amazon Orders
If you’ve ordered your product from Amazon, don’t worry — we’ll fix any issues you have. Simply contact us to provide context about your return and we’ll make it right. You can also email us at contact@breakwatersupply.com.
If you believe there is any damage, include photos for us to review. We’ll reply promptly (within 1 business day) with next steps.

Refunds: Preorders
Please note, because we use the money raised from preorders to manufacture our inventory, they are non-refundable until you have received the product. After you have received the product, your order is eligible for return.
