I've depended on a lot of water resistent and waterproof backpacks for about a year and I could tell this is the real deal. There are two requirements to be waterproof: 1. the material 2. sealing any openings (zippers or roll tops). While roll tops are waterproof, it doesn't mean the openings are completely waterproof under pressure. Also, most roll top bags are built like sacks which serve a purpose but don't make good day packs. However, this bag uses drysuit zippers. But it also has several unique features I haven't seen on a zippable pack like this: 1. two mesh water bottle hoders (while a bit small, they do stretch; see picture), a laptop divider (no padding but should still hold up) 3. Most importantly, the same waterproof zippers on the front stash pocket. I got mine in Cordura which was a 10 dollar difference but is a top notch rip resistent perofrmance fabric. Overall, I do recommend this bag but I do wish it shipped flat (can see the crease in the middle but should be fine once used) and maybe a 30L/28L version with hip straps?

Great and best choice

I have been wearing the Halocline shoe for just over two weeks now and I find them to be very comfortable and cushy. I'm able to put them on easily although I see some people complain about the narrow fit, I guess if you wear wide width shoes it can be a bit challenging. I like that they are silent on most surfaces and can be worn in various situations, whether sports, casual or semiformal. I also like the reflective drawstring, it adds a nice touch. I will definitely be wearing them often. I wish that they fitted a bit higher over the ankles to ensure that water doesn't get inside the shoe. Overall it's an excellent product and I look forward to seeing a second iteration of it.

It’s fabulous. Period. To the person who wrote that the zippers are hard to pull, you just don’t know how to use a waterproof zipper. There are little tabs on both ends of the zipper. You hold the tab nearest the zipper in one hand and pull with the other hand. All truly waterproof zippers are like that.

Writing as a Divemaster, marine ecologist, and full-time PhD student who spends months of the year collecting data in the field. While I've yet to drag this backpack through its paces out on a fieldwork season, I've been pleasantly surprised with how robust it has been as an EDC backpack in adverse winter conditions. It's burly and rugged, and has a functionally minimalist design with plenty of external lash points and additional features. I picked this bag over alternatives such as the Patagonia Guidewater line or the Fishpond Thunderhead primarily because of its built-in laptop sleeve and double airtight pockets (one main compartment and one outside compartment). I don't regret this decision at all, and am pleasantly and plentifully surprised at how well-made and thought-out this product is. My only gripe so far is how small the external water bottle sleeves are—none of my water bottles fit in them, but it's also hard to whine about a feature that none of the other submersible packs on the market even have to begin with, so I digress. The hingeless carabiners are also sleek and functional and don't feel disposable. In short, this bag seems perfect for my demanding use cases, and my only suggestions are 1) bigger/more expandable water bottle sleeves, and 2) a clearer picture of Breakwater Supply's commitment to conservation and sustainability and how their products and materials reflect this focus. I was looking for small carabiners for my keys that weren't metal. It's just that clanking sound that can get irritating. These are perfect and literally it's true they will not break! I tried twisting and bending and I figured since there's 4 in the package I can live with breaking one, but I couldn't snap them. For small carabiners these are perfect. Easy to open and as light as can be. And I like the small zip bag they come in. Recommend!

I am so pleased with the quality and look of the product.

Have been using dry bags for years. This one is lightweight, made with quality material. Designed well. Reason I say this is because I have had multiple bags fail on me on the sides of the bag where the shoulder straps are anchored. After enough time, the stitching for the straps pulls away from the sides. Because this is anchored to the part that has the thin padding on the back, it's not pulling on the sides of the bag, and will not tear. It was a good design choice and one that I wanted to point out.

4.5 stars. Great bag and excellent customer service! I bought this bag for a trip to the Galapagos and the Amazon next year, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it seems like a sturdy bag, and it's pretty cute. I like the texturized appearance of the Condura material but wish it came in more colours or even just a lighter beige. My only gripe is that the 20L pack doesn't have lash tabs or d-rings on the front or sides to secure gear. I know the 25L has those features, but 20-inch long bags look silly on smaller frames (I'm 5'2"), so I had to go with the 20L. It would be great if Breakwater added those features to the smaller bags or offered a shorter version of the 25L for women/shorter individuals. When I purchased the bag, I was worried that the water bottle pockets wouldn't fit my 20oz Lululemon water bottle (3-inch diameter), but I tested it at home, and it seems functional so far. The water bottle pockets have two layers of mesh and a ~0.5" thick elastic at the top, so my water bottle didn't fall out after jumping a few times, but it would be great if it went up about 2" higher. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I would love to see more features added to the smaller bags or even a submersible fanny pack in the future.

It's absolutely amazing so far. I've yet to get it close to it's capabilities, but I love how heavy duty it is, from the materials to the zippers and the welded seams. For gigs I carry all of my vital electronics, microphones, chargers and other tech in it and I've never been more confident. Just how much effort it takes to unzip the zippers is awesome. I'm definitely happy.

The Breakwater Supply Fogland CORDURA Waterproof Backpack is an excellent pack for outdoor enthusiasts. The CORDURA fabric is top notch. I’ve been fly fishing in Mongolia and scuba diving in Mexico with my pack and definitely kept everything dry. Next trips are diving in YAP and fishing in Patagonia. Perfect size for travel and hiking.
