I’ve been fly fishing in Mongolia and scuba diving in Mexico with my pack and definitely kept everything dry. Next trips are diving in YAP and fishing in Patagonia. Perfect size for travel and hiking.

Hello readers of the Breakwater Supply company reviews for the Explorer 25L waterproof backpack. I purchase my first Breakwater Supply bag in August of 2022. When it arrived in the mail it was on time with quick delivery. Showing excitement and ready to try out this new bag. Switching from a worn out a waterproof Patagonia 30L , after close to two-years of daily use. It also stored all the personal property allowing everything to stay dry. Lowering any stress one might have when getting caught in the rain or on the boat with water splashing on deck. This is an awesome backpack for organized onshore fisherman who carry all there tackle and want to keep it dry. The primary Breakwater Supply backpack I use goes through ups and downs daily, with an average weight of ten pounds in the bag. Holding everything one might need and use for a business administrative lifestyle. Which in this case is education while in college over the next few years. Here comes the good news, this manufacture stands by there product with professional customer service and has provided a brand new Backpack after mine became damaged. If your looking to try a waterproof bag this company is offering a water tight sealed bag.

Purchased lots of trainers that were surpose to be waterproof, none was, wasted money. These shoes are not cheap but they are 100% waterproof.

These are lightweight and low profile. Great for light duty applications. Attaching gear to backpacks and such. I got these for hanging my child’s toys to the ceiling of my garage.

Just got back from a fishing trip wehre we had lots of luck. Brought this backpack with me and found it especially useful for the space it has and the waterproof abilities. Very well built. Plan to use it on similar trips in the future.

This backpack exceeded my expectations at all levels! This backpack is 100% waterproof guaranteed! I was walking in a heavy down pour for several hours and all my personal belongings inside the backpack were dry. It is very comfortable to use this backpack while walking for several hours even carrying heavy size items due to the padded back support. I recently travelled with this backpack and it was really convenient because the backpack perfectly fitted below the sit inside the airplane and also it fitted perfectly on top of my 20” carry on luggage (it stands up-right on its own). I love all of the small details of the backpack, such as the carabiner loops (I used them to hang misc small items), waterproof phone pocket (I can use while being outside in a downpour or water-related sport or activities), and the mesh water pocket (I use my Miir 25.3 oz water bottle and it fits perfectly) Also, inside of the backpack it has a laptop sleeve (fits my 14” laptop perfectly) which is convenient when working remotely or working on the go). Moreover, it has two small pocket organizers that is useful for small size items like carabiner loops, portable chargers, etc. Also, it has a medium sized-zipper inside which you can use to store additional items. If you’re looking for a 100% waterproof, strong material, versatile use (commute, hiking, traveling and water-related activities or sports), then this is the ideal backpack for you. P.S. The only small quirk with the backpack is that due to the welded and waterproof zippers, it is kind of a struggle to open and close the zipper. However, there’s a simple solution. You can either use a lip balm or a silicone lubricant and the backpack will open and close very smoothly. Enjoy this Amazing backpack! :)

4.5 stars. Great bag and excellent customer service! I bought this bag for a trip to the Galapagos and the Amazon next year, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it seems like a sturdy bag, and it's pretty cute. I like the texturized appearance of the Condura material but wish it came in more colours or even just a lighter beige. My only gripe is that the 20L pack doesn't have lash tabs or d-rings on the front or sides to secure gear. I know the 25L has those features, but 20-inch long bags look silly on smaller frames (I'm 5'2"), so I had to go with the 20L. It would be great if Breakwater added those features to the smaller bags or offered a shorter version of the 25L for women/shorter individuals. When I purchased the bag, I was worried that the water bottle pockets wouldn't fit my 20oz Lululemon water bottle (3-inch diameter), but I tested it at home, and it seems functional so far. The water bottle pockets have two layers of mesh and a ~0.5" thick elastic at the top, so my water bottle didn't fall out after jumping a few times, but it would be great if it went up about 2" higher. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I would love to see more features added to the smaller bags or even a submersible fanny pack in the future.

Love these waterproof backpacks, we put out laptop in our and threw it in our swimming pool, pulled it out and it was bone dry ! Fits great and heavy duty ! #SWPG Approved !

I searched high and low for the perfect backpack to carry sensitive camera gear onto boats that often take saltwater splash, and deep puddles where I may need to stick my bag. This is it. It's perfect. I have had the zipper give me trouble a couple times over the years, but customer service is the best I've ever seen. They replace the bag straight way. I wish all companies cared this much. Can't recommend enough!

So many bags out there to choose from, this one takes the cake because of the phone pocket. Dropped my iphone in the water last summer (ended up losing it) and needed to get something so that doesn't happen again. Haven't yet had a chance to take it out but I love how it holds my iphone 13 (newest one). The price of phones are so out of control nowadays if you like being on the water, you have to get a backpack with a phone holder.

The challenge of anyone setting off on a waterborne endeavor is how to both keep things dry and accessible. I purchased this backpack in an attempt to solve that problem for myself and I am glad that I did. The backpack is watertight while maintaining a level of accessibility that is needed when on the water and in confined spaces. Putting this backpack in front of me in my pack raft was the perfect solution for needing to keep my camera and lunch dry, but still needing to be able to get them. Other bags require the old fashioned roll down sleeve and buckle or the US Army wet weather bag’s double cinch approach. This waterproof zipper design is far better than either of those. Additionally, to economize space in the boat (very limited on a packraft) the compression strap helps keep the bag from taking up much-needed room. The phone pouch is, by far, the best feature of the backpack. I cannot tell you how many times I have been on the water and wanted the use of my phone for maps, texts, or other things while being terrified to take it out in fear of dropping it. Waterproof or floating cases help, but it also decreases the usability of the phone. This backpack keeps the phone safe while allowing you to use it. It is even better if you have a pair of Bluetooth earphones that will allow you to make phone calls while the phone is safe in the backpack. If nothing else, this feature alone is worth the purchase of the backpack in my opinion.
