Bought this bag as a comparison to a few others on the market, but this was better priced and had more features. I love the bag! Most importantly the pocket for the phone is what makes it the perfect bag when on the water.

Great backpack. Definitely waterproof. In the Philippines i was on a boat for a 5 day island hopping trip and this was my main bag. I brought a drone with me on the boat trip and when we'd anchor off an island Id zip up the back pack with my drone in it and swim to shore. I did this on many islands and never a drop of water got into the bag, Id even kind of swim with it as a flotation device submerging it a bit and no problem. Also nice when thunderstorms would come through areas when I was on motorbikes and would get drenched but didnt even need to worry a bit about my gear getting wet, I'd just throw my phone in the bag and keep going with a smile. As of now I definitely recommend this bag. Want a waterproof backpack? Get one from Breakwater Supply hands down. Much love

I bought my bag through the Kickstarter campaign. It totally meets and exceeds my expectations at first blush. It seems to be of terrific quality, and is certainly the best bag I’ve bought on Kickstarter to date. I can definitely see it being a hit with people who spend a lot of time around water. I closed the zipper and it retained the air inside, and like on the video I was able to stand in it and the air did not leave the bag. Love the small details like the phone pouch with the clear plastic and the water bottle holder on the other side. I also love the computer pouch inside- will definitely keep the electronics safe. Very glad I got the blue- it’s very pretty. And the thinner material c/w the black still seems plenty tough enough- although time will tell. It may be a limited run though. Have not loaded it up and carried it for a long time to see its comfort, but the straps and the back panel seem well made and likely will hold up with protracted use. The campaign was super slick and smooth and the product came through very quickly and 100% on time, something that cannot be said for most of the KS campaigns. Even my wife loves the bag, and she can be quite fussy around this stuff. All-in-all very very happy. Wish all the KS products could be as good. Well done guys (and gals).

GREAT KIT! Has just about everything. I remember buying a survival bracelet years ago for about 15 bucks and there's one actually included in this kit and this one has a small compass and space for some tiny fishing tackle. The one thing it may be missing to be actual survivor worthy is a packable shovel and larger knife. the shovel can be makeshift and the knife I usually carry my own anyway. Other than that this is a really solid kit for price.

Absolutely perfect kit for the Appalachian Trail Thru hike. Hiking 2193 miles from Georgia to Maine, one can encounter a wide variety of injuries and dangerous situations. This kit has everything and then some! The water proof bag is the icing on the top and the lite weight the cherry on top!!!!! It worked perfectly as far and weight and packability. Knowing I could hang it on the outside of my pack if I needed the space was awesome. Thankful I didn’t have to use it but it will stay with me on this journey!!!

I have been wearing the Halocline shoe for just over two weeks now and I find them to be very comfortable and cushy. I'm able to put them on easily although I see some people complain about the narrow fit, I guess if you wear wide width shoes it can be a bit challenging. I like that they are silent on most surfaces and can be worn in various situations, whether sports, casual or semiformal. I also like the reflective drawstring, it adds a nice touch. I will definitely be wearing them often. I wish that they fitted a bit higher over the ankles to ensure that water doesn't get inside the shoe. Overall it's an excellent product and I look forward to seeing a second iteration of it.

This is a pretty great bag if you spend a lot of time on or near the water. It’s got a tough, thick, waterproof material with heat-sealed seams and a really tight zipper, so you don't have to worry about your stuff getting wet or sandy. It’s big enough for towels, sunscreen, and snacks, but not so big that it gets too heavy to carry. It even floats, as long as it's not totally stuffed. A couple of other handy features are the included zipper grease to keep it working smoothly, and the shoulder strap for easier carrying. The bottom also has some structure, so it stands up on its own on the sand, which is a nice touch. You also get a symmetrical layout of interior pockets to keep your things organized. Basically, if you want a reliable bag that keeps your stuff dry at the beach or on a boat, this one is a solid choice. Not bad for the price.

Came as presented. Well made and completely waterproof. Perfect for taking on the boat.

Writing as a Divemaster, marine ecologist, and full-time PhD student who spends months of the year collecting data in the field. While I've yet to drag this backpack through its paces out on a fieldwork season, I've been pleasantly surprised with how robust it has been as an EDC backpack in adverse winter conditions. It's burly and rugged, and has a functionally minimalist design with plenty of external lash points and additional features. I picked this bag over alternatives such as the Patagonia Guidewater line or the Fishpond Thunderhead primarily because of its built-in laptop sleeve and double airtight pockets (one main compartment and one outside compartment). I don't regret this decision at all, and am pleasantly and plentifully surprised at how well-made and thought-out this product is. My only gripe so far is how small the external water bottle sleeves are—none of my water bottles fit in them, but it's also hard to whine about a feature that none of the other submersible packs on the market even have to begin with, so I digress. The hingeless carabiners are also sleek and functional and don't feel disposable. In short, this bag seems perfect for my demanding use cases, and my only suggestions are 1) bigger/more expandable water bottle sleeves, and 2) a clearer picture of Breakwater Supply's commitment to conservation and sustainability and how their products and materials reflect this focus. I fucking love it, I just wish there was one more exterior pocket towards the top for easy access to things. When your bag is on the ground in front of u (which often it is) it's much more convenient to get something quick out of a top pocket that's on the outside.. I truly believe with that addition it would be the best backpack I ever had.

I was looking for small carabiners for my keys that weren't metal. It's just that clanking sound that can get irritating. These are perfect and literally it's true they will not break! I tried twisting and bending and I figured since there's 4 in the package I can live with breaking one, but I couldn't snap them. For small carabiners these are perfect. Easy to open and as light as can be. And I like the small zip bag they come in. Recommend!

After having really bad experiences with supposedly waterproof dry bags and backpacks, I decided I need to do more research and be prepared to spend a little extra in order to get quality gear. When it comes to sensitive items that just can't get wet such as electronics, towels or layers of clothes designed to keep me warm, I don't want to take any chances. I found the gear I was looking for from Breakwater Supply. The River UTE backpack is exactly what I needed and more. It is completely waterproof and submersible. The lashing points are extremely handy for attaching the backpack onto my paddle board or kayak and they are also useful for attaching webbing that allows me to store wet gear such as water shoes or a wet towel on the outside as pictured. The pockets on the sides fit my tall smart water bottles perfectly and the velcro straps on the top sides fit around the cap of the bottle as if that's exactly what they were designed to do. There is a smaller waterproof zippered pocket for my wallet and keys. There is a much more heavy duty waterproof zipper for the main compartment. It stores my Nesso beach tent with the back lash straps holding the poles as pictured. With all that there's still loads of room inside the 20 l Main compartment for a towel, food and also an air inflator if I choose. My buddy likes to use the same backpack to store a miniature fishing pole and fishing gear. There are three additional compartments inside the main compartment of the backpack, but I may not need those until I want to hike with it in areas where I have to walk through water. From hiking and urban exploration to kayaking and paddle boarding, I am a big fan of functional multi-purpose gear and this backpack delivers in aces!
