Any waterfowler knows the importance of keeping gear dry. Rather if it’s camera gear, or shells. The fogland backpack has allowed me do so. In fact, it has allowed me to chase more birds in the rain, sleet and snow without my gear being ruined.

Wow! This is a cool pack! I’ve taken it around the World and had tons of compliments. It saved me in Mongolia on a Fly Fishing float trip keeping all my stuff dry on the boat in a complete downpour . I just got back from a scuba diving trip in Cozumel and kept all my stuff dry in the belly of the dive boat. It’s next trip is fly fishing in Montana and Wyoming in August, scuba diving in Yap in December, and fly fishing in Argentina next March. I love the Fogland 25L pack…my favorite new travel companion.

After having really bad experiences with supposedly waterproof dry bags and backpacks, I decided I need to do more research and be prepared to spend a little extra in order to get quality gear. When it comes to sensitive items that just can't get wet such as electronics, towels or layers of clothes designed to keep me warm, I don't want to take any chances. I found the gear I was looking for from Breakwater Supply. The River UTE backpack is exactly what I needed and more. It is completely waterproof and submersible. The lashing points are extremely handy for attaching the backpack onto my paddle board or kayak and they are also useful for attaching webbing that allows me to store wet gear such as water shoes or a wet towel on the outside as pictured. The pockets on the sides fit my tall smart water bottles perfectly and the velcro straps on the top sides fit around the cap of the bottle as if that's exactly what they were designed to do. There is a smaller waterproof zippered pocket for my wallet and keys. There is a much more heavy duty waterproof zipper for the main compartment. It stores my Nesso beach tent with the back lash straps holding the poles as pictured. With all that there's still loads of room inside the 20 l Main compartment for a towel, food and also an air inflator if I choose. My buddy likes to use the same backpack to store a miniature fishing pole and fishing gear. There are three additional compartments inside the main compartment of the backpack, but I may not need those until I want to hike with it in areas where I have to walk through water. From hiking and urban exploration to kayaking and paddle boarding, I am a big fan of functional multi-purpose gear and this backpack delivers in aces!

Makes waterproof zippers work easier

I just replaced my previous carry all bag with this new waterproof tote from Breakwater Supply. Their waterproofing is next level, and the seal on the zipper gives me full confidence to bring anything I need with me no matter the conditions or location. Perfect for the boat, beach or as an every day diaper bag.

Purchased this to keep my laptop dry when I get caught commuting on my motorcycle in the rain. Does a stellar and perfect job. I think it looks cool, it's extremely comfortable, and has a nice shape. The only downside is that the thick, overbuilt zippers that are clearly meant to make a super strong airtight seal and last forever (all good things) are very stiff and loud. This can draw some unwanted attention to you in a work or school environment. I don't care though and use it for both, I love this thing to death.

I use this tote for everything! It's been essential all summer. Keeps everything dry and I love the exterior pockets for wet clothes or my water bottles. It's so hard to find a waterproof tote and this one is beautiful and comfortable.

Works exactly as it should. I use this as my boat bag when I dive and it is continuously punished and still holding up. Highly recommend. Very well built.

I purchased this bag for a trip to Maui's rain forest. I knew we would be in and out of the water and that it would be raining some of the trip. This bag did not disappoint! Not one drop of water got in the bag. I put everything from my phone, camera, extra clothes and food in there. The 25L left lots of room to carry others items. I was a little worried the light color would look nasty after a day in the mud, but it cleaned up well. The bag actually floated upright which was nice when I was in deeper water. Would definitely buy again.

Perfect size for a day trip on a boat in the islands!

This backpack exceeded my expectations at all levels! This backpack is 100% waterproof guaranteed! I was walking in a heavy down pour for several hours and all my personal belongings inside the backpack were dry. It is very comfortable to use this backpack while walking for several hours even carrying heavy size items due to the padded back support. I recently travelled with this backpack and it was really convenient because the backpack perfectly fitted below the sit inside the airplane and also it fitted perfectly on top of my 20” carry on luggage (it stands up-right on its own). I love all of the small details of the backpack, such as the carabiner loops (I used them to hang misc small items), waterproof phone pocket (I can use while being outside in a downpour or water-related sport or activities), and the mesh water pocket (I use my Miir 25.3 oz water bottle and it fits perfectly) Also, inside of the backpack it has a laptop sleeve (fits my 14” laptop perfectly) which is convenient when working remotely or working on the go). Moreover, it has two small pocket organizers that is useful for small size items like carabiner loops, portable chargers, etc. Also, it has a medium sized-zipper inside which you can use to store additional items. If you’re looking for a 100% waterproof, strong material, versatile use (commute, hiking, traveling and water-related activities or sports), then this is the ideal backpack for you. P.S. The only small quirk with the backpack is that due to the welded and waterproof zippers, it is kind of a struggle to open and close the zipper. However, there’s a simple solution. You can either use a lip balm or a silicone lubricant and the backpack will open and close very smoothly. Enjoy this Amazing backpack! :)

This cap is worth every penny. Very functional With A Touch of Class.

I've always used aluminum or titanium carabiners for my EDC and because I use them for a lot of other purposes. What I really like about them: 1. You never have to worry about the hinge mechanism getting slightly bent and getting out of whack. 2. High level of resistance so I feel more secure with these than other non-locking carabiners. 2. Completely waterproof and will never rust or corrode. 3. SUPER lightweight- even more than my titanium carabiners. Possible downsides: 1. I can see that those with limited hand strength (i.e. small kids, disabled, etc.) might have a difficult time with these because it's not as easy to hold open with a simple hinge. This one fights back. Overall, I absolutely recommend.

I used this backpack as my personal carry-on for a week long cruise to the Caribbean. I took it on a diving excursion and it did great keeping everything inside completely dry! One thing about the bag though, the zippers are stiff and definitely take 2 hands to open and close (there’s a reason there’s pull tabs on either side of the zippers). I saw this as more of a plus for this trip though, in the airport and traveling in the streets I didn’t have to worry about anyone getting into the bag without me knowing! My mom said she had Yeti coolers with zippers that were stiff like this though and there is a lubricant that can be put on to make it easier to open and close, I’m fine using it without though.

The best, most well made bag I have. I use it everytime I go fishing and never worry for my gear. Thank you breakwater for creating something that is stylish and gives me peace !
