The challenge of anyone setting off on a waterborne endeavor is how to both keep things dry and accessible. I purchased this backpack in an attempt to solve that problem for myself and I am glad that I did. The backpack is watertight while maintaining a level of accessibility that is needed when on the water and in confined spaces. Putting this backpack in front of me in my pack raft was the perfect solution for needing to keep my camera and lunch dry, but still needing to be able to get them. Other bags require the old fashioned roll down sleeve and buckle or the US Army wet weather bag’s double cinch approach. This waterproof zipper design is far better than either of those. Additionally, to economize space in the boat (very limited on a packraft) the compression strap helps keep the bag from taking up much-needed room. The phone pouch is, by far, the best feature of the backpack. I cannot tell you how many times I have been on the water and wanted the use of my phone for maps, texts, or other things while being terrified to take it out in fear of dropping it. Waterproof or floating cases help, but it also decreases the usability of the phone. This backpack keeps the phone safe while allowing you to use it. It is even better if you have a pair of Bluetooth earphones that will allow you to make phone calls while the phone is safe in the backpack. If nothing else, this feature alone is worth the purchase of the backpack in my opinion.

Use onboard a kayak for emergencies. Waterproof bag seems of good quality and is a better option over hard plastic which might crack and then leak.

This dry bag keeps my first aide kit dry! THis has great visibility for night time and compact for stoarage.

Writing as a Divemaster, marine ecologist, and full-time PhD student who spends months of the year collecting data in the field. While I've yet to drag this backpack through its paces out on a fieldwork season, I've been pleasantly surprised with how robust it has been as an EDC backpack in adverse winter conditions. It's burly and rugged, and has a functionally minimalist design with plenty of external lash points and additional features. I picked this bag over alternatives such as the Patagonia Guidewater line or the Fishpond Thunderhead primarily because of its built-in laptop sleeve and double airtight pockets (one main compartment and one outside compartment). I don't regret this decision at all, and am pleasantly and plentifully surprised at how well-made and thought-out this product is. My only gripe so far is how small the external water bottle sleeves are—none of my water bottles fit in them, but it's also hard to whine about a feature that none of the other submersible packs on the market even have to begin with, so I digress. The hingeless carabiners are also sleek and functional and don't feel disposable. In short, this bag seems perfect for my demanding use cases, and my only suggestions are 1) bigger/more expandable water bottle sleeves, and 2) a clearer picture of Breakwater Supply's commitment to conservation and sustainability and how their products and materials reflect this focus. Love these waterproof backpacks, we put out laptop in our and threw it in our swimming pool, pulled it out and it was bone dry ! Fits great and heavy duty ! #SWPG Approved !

Absolutely LOVE this bag! The zippers might initially feel a bit hard to work with but after using it a few times and using the zipper glide it is a breeze(and I am a woman so it is totally doable for girls too!). The straps are very comfortable and the bag has a lot of room! The orange color is beautiful and easy to spot! Super excited to take it on outdoor adventures as well as doctor appointments since it is easy to clean!

Rugged and durable! This is my second Breakwater Supply backpack and their designs continue to improve. This is my go-to sailing/kayaking backpack as I trust the waterproofing more than my other bags.

Well I'm not about to take it under Niagara Falls but I did purchase it for an upcoming cruise trip. Already signed up for multiple excursions one of them being to waterfalls in Jamaica. Holds plenty of stuff. The one gripe i have is that I wanted a brighter color but the black is still nice.

Small first aid kit, soft case, has the essentials worth keeping on hand. Size is nice. Easy to bring along.

We took the 20L Fogland Cordura Waterproof backpack with us for a week in Disneyworld. It is roomy and lightweight. It was in the 80's and my husband was completely comfortable with wearing it. The way the back is made prevented it from clinging to him. We were able to carry two stainless steel water bottles, neck fans, cooling towels, rain ponchos and snacks and our outer layers without having to stuff anything in there. We were even complimented on how nice it was after a security guard, who was forced to search it at the gate, questioned us as to whether or not it was waterproof. "Nice! You're going to need it!" This is a great alternative to a soggy backpack! Worth every penny. Great customer service, by the way.

Absolutely perfect kit for the Appalachian Trail Thru hike. Hiking 2193 miles from Georgia to Maine, one can encounter a wide variety of injuries and dangerous situations. This kit has everything and then some! The water proof bag is the icing on the top and the lite weight the cherry on top!!!!! It worked perfectly as far and weight and packability. Knowing I could hang it on the outside of my pack if I needed the space was awesome. Thankful I didn’t have to use it but it will stay with me on this journey!!!

So I just got back from Mexico for 30 days fly fishing in the surf; highly recommend the product. Enjoyed how it complimented my system of moving my gear around. I would say that customer service is over the top. And, I received a multiple unsolicited compliments.

Super comfortable 4. Spacious but doesn't make me look like I'm an overpacker even though I am it just gives a sleek look. The company is also amazing, you can tell they really car about their product and go to great lengths to make sure the customer is getting what they paid for if not more. I've contacted their customer service before and they responded in 1 day and solved my problems instantly. I began to look for this quality of companies when I shop.
